Mayan's Temple Talk

Shalom Alaychem,

I am a 47 year old (on 8.04.2009) European male, who currently live in the sea side town of Gordon's Bay, approximately 60 odd km's from Cape Town proper. I am married, do not have any children of my own (I do love children very, very much, though), but we have 2 Yorkshire Terriers, Benjamin and his son, Toby, who,  are, really, just like children.

I teach the basics of Modern Hebrew  to anyone who are interested. Even though I am not fluent in the language, I certainly do understand the structure of the language, and am, therefore, well able to instruct new students in the basics, and even beyond the basics, of this unique language.

For those who are interested to begin their studies in Modern Hebrew, with me, . . . I teach for 2 hours every 2 weeks and my charges per student, per hour, are as follows: 1 student: R 80, 2 students: R 55, 3 students: R 47, 4: R 43, 5 - 6: R 40, 7 - 8: R 33, 9 - 10: R 29, 11 and more: R 25.

My biggest passion, by far, is to see the House (Temple) of YHVH rebuilt on Temple Mount, in Jerusalem. Only the person of Yahushua the Messiah is bigger than the above, in my life. I can not bear to see the so called "Dome of the Rock" on that most set-apart square of land, called Temple Mount. There is a very real possibility that the "Dome of the Rock", or perhaps only the "Al Aqsa" mosque, might remain, however (under a negotiated settlement), in conjunction with the newly built 3rd Temple, if one considers a scripture like the one in Revelation 11:1-2.

If this will be the case, we will all just have to accept it, because it will be Elohim's will, but I can not see that I will ever get used to it. There is also a possibility that the Jordanian authority might just be willing to tear both the "Dome of the Rock" and the "Al Aqsa" Mosque down in exchange for MAJOR concessions (to them and the Muslim world) from the Israeli government, with regard to Jerusalem, especially.

If this will be the case, I, for one, can, almost, not bear to think what these concessions might amount to, but, Temple Mount, will, at least, be clear of these mosques. Both alternatives, above, will cost the Jewish people, especially, dearly. (Someone might say . . . What, on earth, is new in this? Yes, what is, indeed, new! Since the beginning of time, the Jewish people have only paid, and if it was only with money that they paid, it would still have been, somewhat, bearable, but they paid with . . . Need I continue?)

If I, personally, could choose (which I won't be able to do), I will choose the latter, even though it will be with a heavy heart for the very definite cost such a settlement will, very likely, exact on the Jewish people, as a whole, and on the people and the city of Jerusalem, in particular, for a short while.

One thing seem certain though . . . if the above will still be the case with regard to the 3rd Temple, it will most certainly not be the case with the 4th Temple, the construction of which, so it is believed, the Mashi-ach (Messiah) Himself will supervise.

That specific piece of real estate, called Temple Mount, was from the very beginning, is now and will always be, more set-apart than any other, on the face of this earth. Scripture says so, and I agree. In the words of the spokesmen of the Temple Institute . . . It is the place, forever, where Heaven meets Earth.  The Almighty had His own reasons for giving Islam authority over it, for a time. Why? That was His decision and it is His business,

BUT that site He has given to the Jews. The Scriptures says so, explicitly. King David, in the flesh, bought this site in exchange for 50 sheqels of siver from Aravnah the Y'vusite (2 Sh'mu-el chapter 24 refer). It was a legal, binding transaction. King David was a Jew. Temple Mount, therefore, belongs to the Jews, forever. There can be no arguments about this, whatsoever.

The House of Elohim should stand there, no other. I, Mayan Viljoen, will, tirelessly, work towards this goal, for the rest of my natural life, even if I have no finances, no support, no encouragement and become utterly unpopular in the process. (may The Almighty One forbid the latter from ever happening!)

This is my entire dream, i. e. . . . seeing His Set-Apart House, standing in all its kavod (glory) on Temple Mount, in Jerusalem, once again, just like it used to, in days of old, in ancient times.  Well, this is . . . About Me . . . , and therefore this tab would be incomplete without mentioning my yearning for His Set-Apart House on Temple Mount, in Jerusalem, which, in a very real sense, is my entire life, summarised in 9 words.

My single most love scripture in His Word is, undoubtedly, the words of  T'hilim 42:1, i.e.,

"K'Ayalah (As an application to my own life, I have changed the original word Ayal = dear, in this scripture, to Ayalah = doe) ta-a-rog al afiqay-mai-im ken nafshi ta-a-rog elecha Elohim. / As the Ayalah longs for the water streams, so my being longs for you, O Elohim."

In the words of the apostle Paul . . . "Behold, I now tell you a sod . . ." (The Heb. word sod is translated mystery, in most English translations) . . . this word, "Ayalah" has, in effect, become a kind of master password, if you like, behind which all the deep matters of my life are filed away, or, to put it differently . . . only the word "Ayalah" will truly give you access to the deep matters of Mayan Viljoen. Don't ever say that I don't tell you secrets . . .

My favourite food is olives. I can consume huge amounts of these, and never tire of the taste. I often say . . . "If there was only one kind of food in the world (May Elohim forbid!), for me, that foodstuff would be olives."

My favourite sport, without a shadow of a doubt, is the game of Cricket. I am an avid supporter of South Africa's National Cricket Team, the Proteas. As long as they beat the Ausies 5 or 6 times out of 10, I am  satisfied.

I do love Almighty Elohim more than anyone or anything else in my life (I hope that He will agree with this statement) and I worship His Anointed One (Yahushua the Messiah) as my personal Saviour and King. I eagerly await  the time of the Final Redemption, when our Heavenly Father, Himself, will radically change the human nature of His people, so that their every inclination will only be to do His will, kol ha-z'man (all the time).

Well, other than the above, what you see, is, pretty much, what you will get, as they say. I do not think that there is anything too weird or too wonderful about me, I have no claims to fame, I am not super spiritual (I don't think I would like to be, actually), some might perhaps use the word "average" to describe me, which suits me just fine, perhaps even "boring", which suits me even better.

Elohim has given me many true friends, something I will always praise Him for. One of these is a lady by the name of Margie Booyens. When she sees that someone wants to start an argument with me, she always, correcly, discerns that I have no desire to argue with anyone, because I am a peace maker by nature, and she says . . . "Leave Mayan alone!" Because she shows me this kindness, I often call her  . . . my Margie. I know she wouldn't mind . . .

B'ahavat Yahushua M'shichaynu / In the love of Yahushua our Messiah,

Mayan Viljoen.

This is the only sight of Temple Mount I ever want to see as I approach Y'rushalai-im from the East . . . In this picture a photo of the 2nd Temple is super imposed on an existing one of Temple Mount with the modern city of Jerusalem, in the background.

My personal congratulations to the one who created this photo! I look at it, all the time, and remind myself, constantly, that this is what Temple Mount should look like, will look like, if not quite yet so, during the time of the 3rd Temple (see comment on the left), . . .

most certainly so, by the time the 4th Temple (the details of which can be found in the book of Y'chezqel chapters 40 - 48) will be built.

YHVH, ahavti m'on baytecha u-m'qom mishkan k'vodecha.  /  YHVH, I have loved the abode of Your House and the place where Your Kavod (Esteem) dwells.
